OUR STORY
Raceworks was built upon the extensive automotive journey of its founder, Wahyu Lamban Jatmiko. Years before developing CNC components for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, Wahyu had spent years building custom vehicles, managing workshops, and competing in national off-road championships. This rich experience shaped his background as a racer, engineering practitioner, and automotive entrepreneur from Bantul, Yogyakarta.
Reflecting on his racing career, Wahyu actively competed in championships from 2009 to 2024. Throughout this period, he earned nine national championship titles and collected over 250 trophies. Competing in races across various regions in Indonesia also fostered strong friendships and became an essential part of his personal and professional evolution.
His competitive achievements stand recorded year after year. In April 2012, Wahyu earned first place in the 2,500 cc Individual category at the opening round of the Djarum Super 4×4 Real Adventure Offroad series in BSD. This victory marked an early milestone in a competitive racing journey spanning over a decade before founding Raceworks.
In 2014, Wahyu achieved a major career milestone by becoming the Overall Champion of the UTV Xtreme 4×4 Individual National Championship, while also winning the Upper 2500 cc class at the final round in Gempol. Winning three series that season was driven by his meticulous track surveys and course analysis, which he credits as key factors to his success.
His winning streak continued into 2015, where he claimed first place in the G4 class during the second round of the Indonesia Xtreme Adventure Individual National Championship in Serang, Banten. This victory was secured through consistent performances across six special stages over two days of intense competition, further cementing his reputation as a national off-road driver.
Beyond the race track, Wahyu was directly involved in building vehicles from the ground up. By 2015, his engineering work at his Idek workshop in Bantul had gathered national automotive media coverage. The workshop specialized in custom tubular frames for competition jeeps, with many of his built vehicles actively competing in major off-road events.
When constructing chassis, Wahyu closely analyzed the relationship between the engine, transmission, suspension, and steering systems. Ensuring components were available during the initial planning stage allowed precise weight distribution calculations throughout the tubular frame build process—a testament to his hands-on technical approach.
By 2017, building a complete adventure off-road vehicle at his workshop typically required three to four months. The work was done entirely by hand, encompassing engine tuning, suspension setup, and custom body fabrication. This process demanded continuous, direct involvement through every phase of vehicle construction.
Clients commissioned builds from across Indonesia, including Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Lombok, and Bali. Managing diverse vehicle needs deepened his practical expertise and expanded his industry network. His technical mastery matured through direct craft, from component preparation to fully finished competition vehicles.
By January 2017, Wahyu had been recognized as a five-time National Adventure Offroad Champion. During this period, he expressed a desire to broaden his contributions through technical support and race management, assisting regional drivers with vehicle prep and mechanics to help them grow nationally.
His business journey expanded through Lamban Garage in Bantul, offering vehicle maintenance, custom modifications, and specialized automotive builds. In 2020, Lamban Garage gained national media attention for its custom work on Jeep Wrangler JKs, seamlessly combining his competition engineering background with customer vehicle builds.
His engineering scope also covered special-purpose vehicles. In 2023, Lamban Garage converted a Toyota Hilux into a 6×6 rescue vehicle, designed specifically to carry heavy loads and navigate extreme terrain—demonstrating the practical application of his engineering expertise to specialized demands.
In 2023, Wahyu returned to competitive racing at the National Adventure Offroad Championship Final at the Janoko 4×4 Circuit in Bantul, winning 1st place in G4 Individual, 1st place in Upper 2501cc Team, and setting the fastest lap in SS1 of the G4 Individual class, while also co-organizing the event.
Alongside his off-road accomplishments, Wahyu developed a strong passion for riding motorcycles and long-distance touring. This lifestyle created a new avenue for vehicle and component development, where his experience as a rider naturally connected with years of workshop engineering expertise.
This intersection inspired the birth of Raceworks. Through Raceworks, Wahyu expanded into developing Harley-Davidson aftermarket parts using precision CNC technology, bringing his extensive automotive engineering background into a field closely tied to his personal passion for touring.
Based in Bantul, Yogyakarta, Raceworks manufactures high-precision Harley-Davidson hardware, including swingarms, foot controls, and engine covers. Today, the brand operates a growing dealer network across Indonesia and international markets.
As the founder of Raceworks, Wahyu Lamban Jatmiko carries a rich history as someone who builds, maintains, and drives high-performance vehicles. His experience was forged through hands-on workshop fabrication, intense racing competition, and business development.
Raceworks marks the next chapter in that journey—a place where automotive engineering mastery and a lifelong passion for motorcycles unite into crafted performance products.
